Scratched tonight: Chris Drury (finger), Vinny Prospal (knee), Todd White (healthy), and Matt Gilroy (healthy).

STATE OF THE BLUESHIRTS: The Rangers looked a lot worse than they played on Monday, as they simply are not skilled or quick enough to skate with the Penguins. Despite this, the Rangers are making do with what they have, and letting the kids who are deserving play big minutes. Tonight the rivalry against the Islanders is renewed, as the Rangers are in Uniondale to play the first of a home-and-home series with the Isles. Although the Islanders are terrible, they always play the Rangers tough, and this is a classic let down game for the Rangers, who can’t be caught looking ahead to the home-and-home with Ottawa following this stint against the Islanders.

CRAZY THOUGHT: Sauer scores.

OPPONENT’S BLOG: Islanders Point Blank
