Rangers place Peter Holland on waivers

February 24, 2018, by

The Rangers have placed forward Peter Holland on waivers. This shouldn’t be much of a surprise. Chris Kreider has returned to the lineup, and the Rangers are going more towards youth. It’s good to see that he’s on waivers, and the Rangers didn’t return Vinny Lettieri to Hartford.

Holland was claimed off waivers by the Blueshirts, playing in 17 games. He put up a line of 1-3-4 during his stint with the Blueshirts. There are rumors abound, but I don’t think this is a move that foreshadows a trade. Just creates roster space for Kreider.

    I saw JG’s interview in-between the first/second period.

I loved how he handled the question about the NJ Trade being the first between the clubs.

  2. tanto says:

Good, he really wasn’t bringing too much to the table. Now if we can trade Staal, even while retaining half his salary if necessary, I would be happy.

  3. Bloomer says:

Holland has good puck skills and a large frame. Shame he doesn’t use his size more as I believe he could be a regular roster player in the NHL.

    • Mancunian Candidate says:

Holland is a first-round bust, a 4th liner at best in the NHL. Kreider went two spots after him so NYR did something right that draft.

    • Reenavipul says:

If he did, then he would; but he don’t so he ain’t.

  4. Peter says:

It pains me when another Peter Peter’s out!

    WOW!!! There goes the cup.
