Sunday morning skate: McDonagh still not skating

April 2, 2017, by

It is not time to sound the alarm just yet, but Ryan McDonagh appears to be out for tonight’s game against the Flyers. McD0nagh did not skate today at the morning skate, and the defense pairings appeared to be set without him.

Marc Staal-Kevin Klein
Brady Skjei-Dan Girardi
Brendan Smith-Nick Holden

Luckily the Flyers are not as good as the Penguins, but they still have some great talent that can burn that right side of the defense. It’s amazing how much of a hole McDonagh leaves in the lineup. Hopefully this isn’t serious, and is just a precaution to not rush him back in meaningless games.

McD has played a lot of hockey this year , he can use the rest . It will do him some good if he is not injured to bad no word on what it is that is bothering him . LGR

  2. Walt says:

The key word is meaningless, so why worry???? Mac Truck will be fine when the bell rings, so let the others risk injury, vs Mac, who is vital for any chance of success!!!

As for Filthadelphia, they could be dangerous, due to their playing for a PO spot, and we can expect some dirty garbage tonight……

  3. paulronty says:

Given Flash’s comments on rest, one begins to fear that Mac is more injured than we might think. Keep your fingers crossed.

  4. Stevem says:

Vesey and Glass back in tonight. Buch is scratched. Why is Holden still playing?? Still would rather see Clendo or Kampfer

    • paulronty says:

The coach says he’s ‘dependable”, which means you can count on him to make the same mistakes over & over.

      • Stevem says:

Exactly.. can depend on him to not clear anybody out net front, be in bad position where pucks deflect off him into the back of the net.. and just basically sucking in general

      • Fotiu is God says:

No need for me to blow up The Ronty kilt. But yea, you nailed it, Doc.

Inasmuch I see no cause for alarm, or fevered night sweats.

This is the ideal time to call up Swarty from ECHL/Greenville, or whatever swamp league our man’s playing in. Kazakhstan? What?

Hell, what about Boxcar Hospodar. His kid Teddy’s lacing ’em up here in the LA adult league. Let me see what the Old Man’s doing.

I know Coach Walt and Bobby B. would be behind the call up.
