Rangers place Martin Biron on unconditional waivers

Per Darren Dreger, the Rangers have officially placed goalie Martin Biron on unconditional waivers. This is just a paperwork move to terminate the contract and open up a spot on the 50-man reserve list. Biron will go unclaimed.

If he wanted to play still, he would find a spot somewhere. Illyia “Duck!” Bryzgalov found a job. As bad as he was in Philly especially at the end the Oilers Goalie position was bad enough to go down that road. Biron just didn’t seem like his head was ever into it. If he went to work in the gym and with a team. He’d play and no doubt be a solid goalie for that team.

MB can go one step forward and both sides can terminate the contract, which would allow NY to recover cap space.
