Wolfpack sign Yale goalie Jeff Malcolm

July 23, 2013, by

Wolfpack GM Jim Schoenfeld added to the goalie depth of the organization by signing Yale goalie Jeff Malcolm to an AHL deal. Malcolm was a key piece for Yale as they made their Cinderella run to the NCAA Championship. In 30 games this past season, Malcom went 20-6-2 with a 2.24 GAA and a .919 SV%. The 6’2, 185-lb goalie will compete with Cam Talbot, Jason Missiaen, and Scott Stajcer for the goalie spots in the AHL and ECHL.

I bet Malcom will win backup AHL duties. Either Missiaen or Stajcer is traded: and the other will start at ECHL.

  2. Justin says:

I like this signing. I was very impressed with Malcolm’s game during the NCAA tourney. Him and Skapski have the best chance to be a real asset for the organization long-term.

  3. Mikeyyy says:

Wait we actually just got a promising goalie for nothing?

  4. Louis says:

Was he ever drafted. This looks like a steal.
