Brady Skjei and Boo Nieves invited to WJC Camp

June 7, 2013, by

Two Ranger draft picks from 2012 are on the initial World Junior Championship evaluation camp roster. Defenseman Brady Skjei (1st) and forward Boo Nieves (2nd) were both included on the list that has 16 defensemen and 24 forwards. Last year, Skjei was one of the final defensemen cut for the 2012 WJC Tournament. It is expected that both will get a long look at this year’s evaluation camp.

I just have a good feeling about the future of these two kids in particular.

The strength of the Rangers organization in the last few years has been their drafting and player development. I am disappointed that they have pissed away so many draft choices lately. Torts to his credit has done a good job in helping young players make the leap into the Big Leagues. Looking back before the Torts era how many young Ranger prospects actually became good NHL’s with the club.

The cry baby Cindy, Igor, Neal, held scorless for the entire series, and the Pens go down in four. How sweet is that????

Great job by the Bruins, Chara was a monster. How in the world did Milbury give up on him, and then the Sens let him walk????
