Lineup notes: No updates on injuries, same lines

Per Pat Leonard, there were no major changes to the Rangers lineup during practice today. Marc Staal (regular jersey) and Derek Dorsett (non-contact jersey) both skated. Brian Boyle and Ryane Clowe did not skate. This is semi-good news, as Staal in a regular jersey is a very good sign. His return is the most important, as the Rangers need him against Alex Ovechkin.

Per Steve Zipay, the only change in the practice lines has Micheal Haley joining the fourth line trio of Darroll Powe, Kris Newbury, and Arron Asham. The other lines remained the same.

I know Torts has been incredibly tight lipped about injuries and player updates, but do you have any inclination on when we might expect some of these guys back?

With Staal in a regular contact jersey, and the Rangers not playing until Thursday, one would think he’d be there for the first round, no?

As for Clowe, is this more of a day-to-day injury, or should we expect to see him out for awhile?

Brain Boyle I’m less optimistic about since he was in a brace (may still be, I’m not sure).

What about Dorsett? Heard anything that might suggest he’s on the way to returning?

The Rangers will have to play physical to beat Washington. If they get into am offensive battle, they are outgunned. Clowe, Boyle are much needed here. I do like Haley though, just need a little more grind on the top three lines. Stall would be a pleasant surprize if he is ready, especially if the Blue shirts make it deeper into the playoffs.
