The injuries are starting to mount for the New York Rangers, as they have placed Chris Kreider on IR, retroactive to Sunday, per Colin Stephenson. Kreider missed Sunday’s win over Chicago with an upper body injury, and will now be out through at least next Sunday, missing at least three games.
Kreider will miss at least another three games, but given the schedule, it may be more. The Rangers will be out west when Kreider is eligible to return, starting with Vegas on Saturday night. We know he won’t play against Vegas, and given the travel, he may miss the next two games in Colorado and Utah. We don’t know for sure, but there’s no need to rush him back.
With Kreider on IR, the Rangers have recalled Matt Rempe, who was returned to Hartford following the Arthur Kaliyev claim.
