Rangers Penguins
Rangers Penguins

Another day, another back to back and three in four for the NY Rangers. Today it’s the Penguins, as the Rangers look to extend their winning streak to three games. But don’t let that fool you, the Rangers have looked like trash in their last two wins. They have four straight against division opponents, including three against these Penguins. This is a true test for the Rangers.

The good news is Igor Shesterkin is back to his usual self, even if he isn’t starting today. The bad news is Ryan Lindgren is still out, making you question the cap management by Ryan Martin. Not much that can be done now, but it’s something to keep in the back in your mind as the Rangers enter a cap crunch next year.

Today in Pittsburgh is another game though where the Rangers need to start showing they are a true Stanley Cup contender. It’s Cup or bust this season with their trades. It’s unlikely they face the Penguins in the playoffs, but this is still a (likely) playoff team. They need to start showing up and playing well.
