NY Rangers lines tonight will have Jimmy Vesey on the top line

Per Vince Mercogliano, the NY Rangers lines tonight have minimal changes. Tyler Motte is obviously in the lineup, on the fourth line, starting his second go round with the Rangers. Also, Jimmy Vesey and Vladimir Tarasenko have swapped places.

The bottom six are as expected. It will take another trade to knock Jake Leschyshyn out of the lineup. There’s no real problem with swapping Vesey and Tarasenko here either. Vesey has been surprisingly good at generating and defending against high quality chances this season. He’s certainly earned his spot in the top six. Tarasenko can play anywhere. It’s about finding what works and finding what Plan B and Plan C are in the playoffs.

The bigger concern is the tough turnaround, with the Rangers finishing late on Saturday night, flying across the country, and playing less than 48 hours later.
