An Alexis Lafreniere trade would be risky for the NY Rangers.

Last night may have been a blow to the Rangers win streak, but they still got a point. It was also an “historic” night, as Alexis Lafreniere scored his first powerplay goal. Our own Johnluke Chaparro has the goal on his YouTube channel.

It’s easy to be upset that it took this long for Lafreniere to score his first powerplay goal. Some are upset with Lafreniere, who has had a bit of a roller coaster ride through his first three seasons in New York. It’s also easy to be upset with Gerard Gallant and/or David Quinn, who use(d) him sparingly with the man advantage.

We will likely see more of PP2 for the Rangers going forward, now that they have a pair of truly dangerous units. It’s also expected that Lafreniere will be bumped to PP1 at some point in the near future as he improves and age starts to rear its ugly head for some of the veterans.
