December is the month of the Rangers. They are on a six game winning streak, and now take on the “lowly” Blackhawks in Chicago. Lowly is in quotes because, lest we forget, the Rangers lost badly to these same Blackhawks earlier this month. That may have been rock bottom for the Rangers, as they haven’t lost since.
If last night against the Flyers wasn’t the trap game, then this certainly is. The Blackhawks are straight up terrible. There was no excuse for the Rangers’ loss to them earlier this month, and there would certainly be no excuse for getting swept by them. It does seem they may have figured out their interim step to their “perfect” lines, but haven’t quite got there yet. These lines are spinning off wins, and that’s the most important thing.
They can’t take tonight off though.
