Welcome to another edition of Blue Seat Bookie. Let’s highlight a few bets that look extremely promising for Thursday December 1st shall we?

Define the Great Money Line: Record 2-2

Edmonton Oilers defeat the Minnesota Wild +120

It’s no secret that the Edmonton Oilers have two of the greatest players probably of this current generation in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Both players are being their usual selves and are just dunking on teams left and right with stellar play, puck possession, and high hockey IQ. They will be going up against a very mediocre Minnesota Wild squad that has struggled from day one.

These are not the Minnesota Wild of last year at all, and I believe that is in large part to the departure of Kevin Fiala for cap purposes. The Wild don’t have that secondary scoring that he provided them, thus they are pretty mediocre. I look for Edmonton to win this game with the two horses taking the charge over the Wild. No Jonas Brodin hurts Minnesota tonight as well.

Colorado Avalanche cover the spread against the Buffalo Sabres +140

Colorado has not only been a fantastic team to watch as they defend their cup, they have done a great job covering the spread this season. Buffalo will be coming into the game on the second half of a back to back defeating the Red Wings in the shootout the night prior in Detroit. They will have traveled from Detroit to Buffalo, gotten in late, and have to play the next day. Look for this one to be high scoring. 4-1 or 5-2.  Colorado coming in having gone 7-3-0 in their last 10 doesn’t hurt either!

Overs or Unders: Record 2-2

New Jersey Devils/Nashville Predators Over 6 -120

This bet for me is a no brainer. Nashville does have guys who put the puck in the net in Filip Forsberg, Matt Duchene, Nino Niederreiter, and having a defenseman like Roman Josi doesn’t hurt either. The Devils are the Devils, they have been arguably the best team in hockey since mid-October and are still firing on all cylinders on all of their lines.

I don’t think Nashville is going to be able to contain the Devils speed and that the Devils will score 4 or 5 goals no matter who is in net. They have the talent this year to roll 4 lines of balanced offense and have legit stars in this league as much as it pains me as a Ranger fan to admit that. Look for a 5-3 type score in this one.
