Rangers loan Adam Sykora, Adam Edstrom to Euro leagues
The Rangers will loan Adam Sykora and Adam Edstrom to their respective Euro leagues for this season. Sykora will go to Slovakia, and Edstrom will continue in the SHL. This means neither will be at Rangers camp this month.
Last year, Sykora put up 10-7-17 with HK Nitra in the Slovakia pro league Tipos Extraliga as a 17 year old. Now a legal adult, Sykora will look to build on that.
Edstrom put up 7-2-9 in 43 games with Rogle in the SHL last season with teammate Oliver Tarnstrom, another Rangers draft pick. The numbers aren’t overly sexy, but his raw talent and size is still translatable to the NHL. Remember though, he was a 6th round pick for a reason.
It looks like the Rangers will only have 6 key prospects in the Euro leagues this year. Joining Sykora, Edstrom, and Tarnstrom will likely be Leevi Aaltonen, Jaroslav Chmelar, and Kalle Vaisanen, all playing in Finland.
