Just two days after being named a finalist for the Vezina Trophy, which he will win, Igor Shesterkin is a Hart Trophy finalist, as expected.
Shesterkin is a Hart finalist with Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid. This is likely Matthews’ trophy to lose, and Shesterkin should come in second. To play Devil’s Advocate, the Rangers are barely a playoff team, if at all, without Shesterkin in net. This vote might be closer than many are willing to admit, especially in Toronto.
That said, Matthews was a man on fire in March and April while Igor struggled. That might be the difference maker.
