NY Rangers Game 44: The calm before the tears

The Rangers are in Columbus tonight to take on the lowly Blue Jackets, who had 62 shots put up against them last night. It’s unlikely the Rangers do that to them tonight, since that’s not their offensive style. The Rangers go for quality and sacrifice a ton of quantity. They also sacrifice some quality for even better quality, much to the chagrin of all of us hoping they just shoot the puck.
The Blue Jackets are quite bad defensively, per Rob Luker.
#NYR notes for at CBJ:
– CBJ is bad defensively: 32nd in xGA/60 for the year and in the last 2 weeks, mid-tier xGF/60 at best
– 2L/4L/1D/2D are the only combos >45% xG, 3L is new
– 1L/3D are <40% xG, with 3D at 22% (!)CBJ on the B2B, a good chance for some NYR offense. pic.twitter.com/UUC0RXXDp4

The Blue Jackets are also on the second of a back to back, which means tired legs, in theory. This should be a dominating performance by the Rangers. They will need it, since tomorrow is going to be emotionally draining for some.
