Rangers assign Jones, Pajuniemi, Richards to AHL

The Rangers have essentially cleared house on the taxi squad, sending Zac Jones, Lauri Pajuniemi, and Justin Richards to the AHL

Jones was the only guy from the trio to get time with the Rangers, playing pretty well in his short stint. Pajuniemi was called up but never used. I didn’t even know Justin Richards was on the taxi squad.

This is likely signaling that the Rangers are starting to have guys come out of Covid protocol. It could also mean that they are trying to limit the days spent with the taxi squad, as the max is 20 days. Jones was getting close to that limit.
