NHL new COVID protocols

The NHL and NHLPA have agreed to new COVID protocols through at least January 7. It seems like the big change is restricting the players from going to public indoor places. It doesn’t look like there is an increase in testing, since the players basically get tested daily as is. The rest is just awareness and increased mask wearing.

The Rangers have been relatively lucky thus far, and haven’t missed many games due to COVID. However Nashville, Colorado, and Arizona have all seen COVID outbreaks in the past week, and the Rangers played each of those three teams. It seems that it is only a matter of time before the Rangers have their own outbreak. Given the schedule, where they only have one game in the next eight days, that might work out for them.
