Per Darren Dreger, ex-Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton will likely be heading up Hockey Operations in Montreal.
Things continue to develop in Montreal. All signs indicate Jeff Gorton will soon be heading up Hockey Operations for the Canadiens.

Gorton was unceremoniously canned, along with John Davidson, last season after the Tom Wilson incident. Rumors are abound that Dolan wanted Gorton fired for a while, and used that as his opportunity, with Davidson being collateral damage.
The firing was surprising, but many around the league recognized that Gorton was the architect of the Rangers rebuild. He wasn’t perfect, but he did an overall solid job, helped with some luck, with building this Rangers team. This is a solid landing spot for Gorton, and a bit of a promotion as well.
