After last night’s crushing loss, the Rangers basically need to win out to even get within sniffing distance of the playoffs. That is highly unlikely, so now the attention shifts to the youth. From Shayna Goldman’s article on the Athletic (a brilliant read, she’s worth the subscription to The Athletic), development isn’t linear and is rarely just on the coaching staff. With that in mind, it’s time to focus on the youth.

It’s not necessarily about ice time either. I learned a lot from that article, and I personally will be backing off my ice time complaints. I just want to see more of an emphasis on teaching the youth and getting them to be the best versions of themselves. Put them in positions to succeed.

But being greedy, I’d love to see Vitali Kravtsov with Artemi Panarin.
