• The Rangers did what they needed to do. They swept the four game set against the Devils by a combined score of 18-6.
• However the Rangers made up almost no ground in the playoff push. They still trail the Bruins, who are also on a run. Now the Islanders may be a more realistic target to catch.
• The Rangers surprised no one by being inactive at the trade deadline. But they surprised all of us by signing defenseman Zac Jones to an ELC, fresh off his Frozen Four championship. It is expected he will be in the lineup this week.
• Given the Rangers took a few third periods off, and how good he’s looked, it’s time to move Vitali Kravtsov up the lineup.
• Ryan Lindgren is a restricted free agent this summer. What will it cost to get him under contract?
• Hartford Update: The Pack won their had a six game win streak snapped, but Morgan Barron continues his torrid pace. The Pack are 10-7-1 and are second in the division.
• Injury Update: None. No one is hurt or in COVID protocol.
