Top stories from last week:

• The Rangers had their longest winning streak at three games this season with wins over Buffalo and the Devils twice. They then had it snapped in Pittsburgh.
• The Rangers are finally getting healthy. They got Filip Chytil, Jacob Trouba, and Kaapo Kakko back this week. All three are huge adds to a team that was depleted.
• Credit needs to go to Ryan Strome for being a steadying force at center this season.
• The Rangers have no takers for Tony DeAngelo. An AHL loan may be on the horizon.
• The Rangers signed first round pick Braden Schneider to an entry level contract.
• More interestingly, the Rangers signed defenseman Mason Geersten to an NHL contract. The big defenseman was on an AHL contract with the Hartford Wolf Pack prior. Makes you wonder why he got the promotion.
• Vitali Kravtsov is lighting up the KHL playoffs, with three points in his first two games.
• Hartford Update: Tarmo Reunanen and Morgan Barron continue to be hot to start the season, but the Pack have now dropped three in a row
• Injury Update: The Rangers dodged a bullet with Igor Shesterkin, who only has a groin strain. He’s expected back soon. There is no update on Artemi Panarin.
