NY Rangers Fan Confidence Poll: March 1, 2021

Last Week’s Results: L 4-3 (@ PHI), W 6-2 (vs BOS), L 4-1 (vs BOS)
Season Record: 7-9-3 (6th in East Division)
Schedule This Week: 3/2 vs BUF, 3/4 @ NJD, 3/6 @ NJD, 3/7 @ PIT
Last Poll’s Results: 6.7 (137 votes)
Top stories from last week:
- The depleted Rangers lost a sloppy game to the Flyers, before splitting a pair with the Bruins.
- Artemi Panarin is took a two week leave of absence following a Russian hit piece that was clearly politically motivated. Allegations are that he beat up a girl in a Latvian bar in 2011. There is significant evidence that this never happened, and no victim has come forward.
- There is a strong case to call up Morgan Barron, given the Rangers scoring issues.
- The Rangers are trending in the right direction, despite the losses. Process matters more at this point in the rebuild.
- A good amount of very premature chatter that Alexis Lafreniere is a bust. That’s just silly.
- Hartford Update: Tarmo Reunanen and Morgan Barron continue to be hot to start the season, but the Pack have now dropped three in a row
- Injury Update: Filip Chytil is set to return this week. Ditto Kaapo Kakko, whenever he is removed from the COVID list. There is no update on Jacob Trouba. Panarin remains out.

Given the current roster construction, farm system, management, coaching, etc., how confident are you in the Rangers' overall future?
A very mediocre team, that still needs its stars to perform in order to move up from the lower tier of the division. Some bright spots but overall team is not producing enough goals 5v5.
Dave have you been tracking the weekly results to these polls? it would be interesting to see the trend on a simple line chart (mean/mode) ?
Yup – the plan is to post something at the end of the season, highlighting the highs and lows.
It will look like an EKG for someone with heart problems.
The season thus far has been filled with dramatic episodes such as COVID restrictions, Tony DeAngelo, and then the Panarin hit piece, that leads to the only possible conclusion: expect the unexpected.
Overall, the team’s future is bright. Every team experiences bumps in the road. The entire league is experiencing the virus pandemic. But, with the young players and skilled vets they have, things still are looking up. 9
Not phased in the least … and the fact that many here just float up and down in terms of their overall confidence from one game to the next just don’t grasp the big picture. That isn’t to say someone with a relatively low confidence level is wrong, but your judgment can’t be swayed with each game’s result.
I have to hand it to the people that vote “10.” Tremendous optimism.
Must be the same people who think that Joel Osteen is a sincere man.
That cracked me up …
