What are Chris Drury's Rangers trade deadline plans?

With Pittsburgh GM Jim Rutherford’s sudden resignation, interesting names have appeared as potential replacements. The one that impacts the Rangers most is Chris Drury, who has an inside track for the Penguins GM role due to connections with USA Hockey.

Drury has been the assistant GM with the Rangers since September 2016. He’s been at the center of the rebuild the Rangers are undergoing. Drury has also been in charge of the Hartford Wolf Pack. The Pack had a terrible atmosphere for a while before Drury got there. The results haven’t come, mostly because the Rangers keep poaching the top talent, but the Pack have become relevant and a good place to play.

It will be a little while until we know if Chris Drury gets the Penguins GM role. We don’t even know if the Rangers granted the Penguins access to interview him. They’ve denied prior interviews in the past.
