The Rangers and Penguins square off again tonight in the second game of their two-game set. The Penguins took the last one in a shootout, so the Rangers are going to look to get a series split here. The good news is that the Rangers are trending up and had the better numbers in the last game. A poor defensive play and a randomized shootout meant they didn’t get the second point.

The key again will be consistency. Keeping neutral zone pressure up, not giving up the blue line, and preventing Crosby and Malkin from getting going are all a part of this. Many correlate consistency with goal scoring. I correlate consistency with continuing to pressure. The effort and executing the proper system matters more. Process breeds results. Nail the process, get the results.
