    • We could say the same for Nils, Schneider, Robertson, even Vitali. We’re so close … really just a Top 6 Center (as in just better than Strome) and 1LD away. After that it really just comes down to chemistry, luck and tweaking.

      • My guess, but those you mentioned are basically untouchable.

Or, it would have to be an elite player coming back for any of them.

Would you trade Nils and Krav for PLD?

        • The internal discussion has to be where Kravtsov can slot into the top 9 and how quick can he do it.

Right now the Rangers have a surplus of wealth on the wing. If they can get Buch in at the right number, then Kravtsov’s probably at his highest trade value. If they can’t, then Buch will be at his highest trade value once they extend him at expected value.

I’d really want DuBois to finish the season in CBJ to show that he’s a pro instead of a baby.

There’s an in season deal to be had if the Rangers can do the juggling of taking Savard off their hands…Buch/ADA/2nd for PLD/Savard?

          • PLD got a goal yesterday that epitomizes his talent.

He has the talent to be a #1 C and would slot in nicely behind Zib here.

But even IDK if I would do that deal that I proposed that would be needed to get a deal done.

        • I don’t know simply because I really think we need to move both Strome and ADA — of course those can be separate deals, but at some point in the near future they’ll have to make a decision on either Nils or Schneider and as Reen said in another post, Schneider would seem to be the likely 3rd pairing nasty snarling d’man … and as he’s suggesting down below, where does Kravs fit and when? What if Kravs could be legit as a Center (I know he’s played there before, BUT could he hack it in the NHL as a Top 6, Top 9 … and when …)? personally I want to see the Top 3 lines all be Top 6.

We have an embarrassment of riches here, aside from a legit Top 6 Center (assuming it isn’t Chytil), and we have to either make room for them or trade a few of them — but that just makes the job of figuring out which good prospect to trade all the more difficult. We loaded up on too many good prospects in too short of a time … now we need to cull them wisely and perhaps even trade for some future 1st rounders, just to spread the development out.

          • Strome doesn’t *need* to go, just that if a replacement on the roster can be found, moving him before the deadline wouldn’t be the worst thing.

          • IDK that I put Krav at C. He seems destined to be a wing, but I guess that you never know until you try.

          • With the way he skates and moves the puck, I could see him at least tried at Center — not saying it would work, but it might be worth the shot.

    • Jones has enough times on the clock that the club has leverage with Fox that Jones could be the replacement.

That out of the way, if Fox’s path keeps going higher, I’m max extending him on 1 January 2022.

      • I’m high on Jones, but that doesn’t mean the transition to an NHL 45-55 point d’man won’t come slowly —- and that’s where Fox is right now. I say they max extend Fox barring some real regression. Besides, isn’t Zac an LD (yeah yeah, I know he runs around the ice to the right side sometimes lol).
