NY Rangers Fan Confidence Poll: January 11, 2021

Key Dates: 1/14 (vs. NYI), 1/16 (vs. NYI)
Last Poll’s Results: 8.3 (87 votes)
Top stories from last week:
- Tony DeAngelo and Jacob Trouba started preseason as the top pair. That would mean the Rangers have a pair of off-hand defenders in the lineup, if it sticks.
- K’Andre Miller has the inside track to break camp with the Rangers.
- There’s a chance Matthew Robertson starts the season on the taxi squad.
- This is a big season for David Quinn. The Suit returned to explain how he should be evaluated in this critical season.
- The Rangers are very top heavy, but will only be as good as their weakest links.
- Team USA took home gold at the 2021 World Juniors. The finals had four NY Rangers prospects participate.
- The Rangers have a deep connection with Team USA hockey, as Sam Prevot broke down.
- The Rangers have a pair of solid goalies and will need to balance the workload.

Given the current roster construction, farm system, management, coaching, etc., how confident are you in the Rangers' overall future?
I was concerned that the short pre-season would effectively prevent, say, Miller from a true opportunity to earn a spot, and feel great that seems to not be the case. Extending from that, I love that they used some of the limited time to at least give him a look with Trouba. I got used to the idea of Johnson a long time ago, and think he may benefit from a partner like ADA. This is a development year, which I understand. So overall, I’m feeling very 9.
Thinking our top line is in good shape. Waiting for the Panarin/Strome/Kakko line to show some energy. Chytil/LaFren/Gauthier seem to clicking. Howden a guarantee on the 4th line.
Defense would be nice if Miller goes top pair. Fox/Lindgren are stable and Tony can roam if he has the right partner. Confident we will play hard, but unsure of a playoff spot. 7
I think a really tough, shortened but tight season is just what the team needs to mature and grow. They will give us some really good memories this year – for sure. Perhaps the club can be competitive for a top division spot and make the playoffs. I’ll be happy with a team that plays together, never gives up, matures and doesn’t allow any steps backwards.
LGR!
I saw a few clips of practice that had me warming up nicely.

You forgot #89.
It will be a fun season. The Rangers are still a developing team which has an outside shot at a playoff spot. My 9 rating is based upon future potential more than the upcoming season.
I feel this organization is moving in the right direction. They have refilled the prospect pipeline, which will make this team a contender for the playoffs today, then a team to win a round or two and then Cup contender. My biggest concern with this team is the Coach. I feel like Quinn is doing a good a job but will he be the guy to get this team to contend for the Cup. I think when the Rangers are cup contenders, there will be a different coach to get them over the top. JD and Gorton deserve high marks for putting the Rangers in great spot for 5 -8 years.
I’ve bumped my vote up to a 9 after hearing DQ’s assessment of the Miller/Trouba pairing, and Lafreniere beginning to look like the real deal. I think the team may actually accomplish the feat of being BOTH younger and better.
The 4th line seems to be shaping up!
#48 looks good!
9, Miller is making the opening night line up and JJ is not.
Curious that DG is in vs Rooney, but otherwise, love the line up.
