It’s the day after Christmas, the 2021 World Juniors haven’t started yet, and NY Rangers training camp hasn’t opened yet. So it’s a bit slow. Except for Vitali Kravtsov, who scored by far the best goal I’ve seen this month. Felt like this deserved its own post.

The defense against him isn’t superb on this play, but he does prevent Kravtsov by cutting back to the slot. Instead, Kravtsov just roofed it shortside on the backhand. Not many players can pull something like that off.
Kravtsov’s linemates aren’t the best scorers either, and his 10-5-15 line is reflective of this. It’s very clear how talented he is. Perhaps a confidence boost was all he needed. He should be back in the US around March, when the KHL season ends. Anyway, enjoy this beauty of a goal from Vitali Kravtsov today.
