  • Seeing how Vitali Kravtsov is playing after the return from an injury, and with the need to replace Staal, and Hank with what I feel are upgrades, it should be an interesting year. ADA going to the left side, and Nils replacing him on the right, nice set of d-men there.

As far as Strome is concerned, they could walk away from the guy, and it wouldn’t be any great loss. Play Chytil, and or Barron in his place, let the kids form some chemistry together. I can see a line of Lafreniere-Chytil-Kakko skating together for years. Zib-Kreider-Bread would be the other top six guys, and with the recent draft, and kids in the system, I have faith in the future. If Barron does make it, then a line of Barron-Kravs-Lemieux could work out fine. I still say Buch will be moved sometime soon, even if this is an unpopular statement.

If they can’t trade Smith it wouldn’t be the end of the world. He is one of the 3rd pair, and fill in on wing if needed, reducing the need to carry 13 forwards due to cap restraints. One of the kids, Miller, will be in the NHL sometime this season, at which time they try again to move Smith, or he could ride the pine at that time.

    Solid 9 is my vote!!!!!!!!

  • Strome is becoming too expensive to keep and I suspect his trade value is next to nothing. Rangers have a tough call to make on him.

Team still needs center depth and they shouldn’t stop looking for a deal.

I think without Strome, Staal and Fast, this is a worse team than the one that ended the season. Lots of work to do before the puck drops.
