With their 6th round pick (#165) in the 2020 NHL Draft, the NY Rangers selected center Matt Rempe.
The Rangers selected forward Matthew Rempe with the 165th overall pick. Rempe, 18, skated in 47 games with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League (WHL) this past season, registering 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points, along with 53 penalty minutes. #NYR

Rempe is the third player from the WHL to be selected in this draft. Rempe is a whopping 6’8″ and 236 lbs as an 18 year old. I never call out size, but he is just really, really tall.
He is big, he is strong, and that’s about it. There’s some skill and obviously some decent skating, but this is a major project pick. At this point, everything is a dart throw. Matt Rempe could be Brian Boyle for the Rangers, or he could be another 6th rounder gone by the wayside.
