Rangers' assistant GM Chris Drury has withdrawn from consideration for the vacant GM job in Florida, Post has learned.

Drury withdrew his name from consideration for the role. No reason was given. But given the state of that franchise, it’s going to be a tall order for any newcomer. Drury would not be set up for success there.
Drury’s name was only in consideration for two weeks. This was after the Rangers granted permission for Chris Drury to speak with the Panthers about their GM role. It was a little surprising to see the Rangers grant permission, after denying the Sabres and Wild permission at various times.
For now, Drury will remain Assistant GM of the Rangers and GM of the Hartford Wolf Pack.
