What are Chris Drury's Rangers trade deadline plans?

The Florida Panthers have been given permission to interview current NY Rangers assistant GM Chris Drury, per Elliotte Friedman. Florida’s GM role became available when they did not renew the contract of Dale Tallon.

Drury became the AGM of the Rangers in 2016 and has spent four years backing up GM Jeff Gorton. Drury was charged with GMing the Hartford Wolf Pack and, more importantly, revamping that team and clubhouse from the train wreck it was.

The Rangers granting permission to the Panthers to interview Chris Drury is interesting. Last year, the Rangers denied the Minnesota Wild permission to speak with Drury. They also denied the Buffalo Sabres permission in 2017.
