rangers vegas golden knights tony deangelo

Some surprising injury news today, as Tony DeAngelo looks to be a game time decision due to an undisclosed injury.

This is surprising, since DeAngelo didn’t have anything glaring happen during Wednesday’s loss. Marc Staal, who missed the third period of the exhibition matchup, is good to go.

Without DeAngelo, the Rangers would likely run Libor Hajek with Staal in extremely limited minutes. The other two pairs work, so it makes sense not to break them up. Another option is to revisit the Hajek-Trouba pairing, putting Brendan Smith with Staal on the third pair.

Either way, a Tony DeAngelo injury hurts their chances of getting this series started off right.
