NY Rangers Tune Up Open Thread: Rangers/Isles exhibition game before the playoffs

It is July 29, and there is hockey on our TVs. This is not a drill. NY Rangers hockey is back. This may be an exhibition game, but it’s also a momentum building game. This is a game where you want the Rangers to be as crisp and as clean as possible. The outcome doesn’t really matter that much, but process does.

Everything heading into these playoffs is different. The long layoff changed injury status, changed development status, and even changed post-trade deadline status. Usually teams get a month after the deadline to gel. This time teams got a week or two. All this matters. Looking crisp and clean tonight matters more than anything right now.

  • Good embellishment call by the refs on Lemieux. There is no place in hockey for that European football crap. Fast with a wide open net, shoots the puck into the goalie pads. Some things never change.

  • These playoffs are going to be won by special teams. Remember there won’t be a regular season for these refs to set the bar and then “swallow the whistle” once playoffs starts. It will be like the season opener where the players are rusty and the refs will be calling everything.

Good thing the Rangers had a PP at the end of the season that can steal games and 2 goalies that can steal a series.

  • Trotz knows how to shut teams down. Probably the most underrated coach in the league.

Rangers best players weren’t on the top of their game but it’s been since March since they played. I suppose what these playoffs will come down to, is which team can hit their stride the fastest.

    • “Trotz knows how to shut teams down. Probably the most underrated coach in the league.”

Not even would I say that. He has had some loaded Preds teams before coming to Washington. He got lucky with that Caps team in 18. He lost the locker room early in the 1st round. Kutz went into 2009 Malkin mode that post season.

There you go again, spewing your bull crap again, mister know it all. By the way, clean the pubic hair from your girls crotch, Hayes, off of your chin, schmuck.

I responded to your crap, but Dave deleted it, too embarrassing for our readers.
