  • If the future is the next 3 years, I would say an 9, if the future you speak of is how far we go in these playoffs, I would say a 7.

  • Our future start Aug 1st. Are we legit? Can we play some real defense? Can our 3rd and 4th lines generate any offense?

  • It isn’t quite true that no one opted out, just that no one on the formal invite list opted out. It seems clear that Lias Andersson did opt out, just did so before he was invited. Sean Day (better than Crawley) opted out of the organization and just signed with Tampa. Ditto Nick Ebert, now in Sweden.

And we have no explanation for why Boo Nieves was not invited. Seriously, from the alternate list Nieves, Fogarty, Haley, Lettieri, O’Regan, Gettinger, Kravtsov, is Nieves the guy you don’t invite? I suspect he is the best and most useful player on the list (in fact, also better than Howden). Sure you definitely invite Kravtsov and maybe Gettinger because you want to involve the kids and you don’t need 19 forwards anyway. But O’Regan and Lettieri?

It is quite possible the Rangers asked Nieves if he wanted to come to camp and he said no and they said fine, we won’t put you on the list. It just makes sense to check with the invitees before sending out the invitations. The Rangers might also have checked with Robertson, although he is likely still below Crawley on the 2020 depth chart.

  • I gave it a 7. Good things happening, but room for improvement.

As of now, the offensive talent outside of the big club is pretty lite. I hope that Henriksson turns out to be something.
