Filip Chytil's Rangers future

The Rangers bet on themselves. They didn’t add at the deadline, only extending Chris Kreider. They traded Brady Skjei in what is going to be looked at as a cap savings move, and that hurts the team short term, but they bet on his replacement(s). In essence, the team today is the team they want.

That said, the Rangers are going to be without Igor Shesterkin for a few weeks, possibly the rest of the season because of the car accident. As of the writing of this post, there is no word if Pavel Buchnevich will be playing tonight, although he is likely to return in short order.
