NY Rangers Game 59 Open Thread: Chicago is no longer a powerhouse

The rolling Rangers are in Chicago tonight to take on the Blackhawks, who are not a good team this year. The Hawks are on the outside looking in for the playoff race, and are unlikely to make up enough ground to get there. They are still potent offensively, but nowhere near as consistent as they once were.

The Rangers are rolling with Igor Shesterkin in net tonight. Julien Gauthier is also playing tonight, and it is my guess he is in for Jesper Fast. Or I could just be reading too deep into the tea leaves. But as of the writing of this post, that’s my guess.

  • I like the trade. I like getting the 4th overall from 2016 and a first round pick as well for rentals.

    • sorry, going between my phone and the machine, this was a hypothetical from a pal about getting Puljujarvi from Edmonton for CK with 1st round pick… lol

      • Puljujarvi intrigues me, but also worries me …

That said the 1st rounder might turn out to be one of those mid-1st rounders because I don’t see the Oilers being a great threat to advance a round. Colorado on the other hand … same goes for Boston.

  • NBC guys spending some time in the pre-game taking about will Henrik soon be on another team . But as always no matter what …….LETS GO RANGERS !!!!!
