Karl-Henriksson

The Rangers have five prospects competing in the 2020 World Juniors this year:

  • K’Andre Miller, Zac Jones (USA)
  • Karl Henriksson, Nils Lundkvist (Sweden)
  • Nico Gross (Switzerland)

All five kicked off the tournament yesterday. The action started with Gross’ Switzerland defeating Kazakhstan by a score of 5-3. Gross finished scoreless with two PIMs, a -1 rating, and 11:54 of ice time.

Sweden topped Finland in overtime (3-2), with Lundkvist playing 23:18 and finishing with a +1 rating, while Henriksson, who played with top 2020 draftee Lucas Raymond, played 12:56 and had a -1 rating.

The thriller between USA/Canada closed out the day, with Canada topping the US 6-4. The US tied the game at four, but a costly turnover by Miller gave Canada the lead back for good. Miller finished with 19:39 in ice time and a -1 rating. Jones finished with an assist and a -1 rating in 17:23 in ice time.

Henriksson, Lundqvist, Miller, and Jones are all playing significant roles for their team. Miller is the captain of the USA team. Only Team USA is back at it today, looking to get a win against Germany.
