Lias Andersson formally requests trade

In a move that shouldn’t be overly surprising, Lias Andersson has formally requested a trade from the NY Rangers. Andersson, the 7th overall pick in the 2018 draft, has been mismanaged by the Rangers since he was drafted, but also couldn’t find his own game while with the Rangers and Hartford.

This is a complete debacle with blame on all sides. There’s a much longer reaction on this, but know that the Rangers really screwed up here. You have to feel for the kid who never got a real shot, but also couldn’t find his game after a demotion to Hartford, something that Filip Chytil had no problems with.
