rangers detroit red wings

The Rangers are back in action tonight in their first of back-to-backs. Tonight it’s Detroit on NBCSN for “Rivalry Night,” which is clearly loosely defined because I can’t remember the last time the Rangers and Red Wings were considered rivals. Really milking that Original Six matchup stuff, I guess.

Marc Staal and Greg McKegg return to the lineup for the Rangers. Ryan Lindgren and Lias Andersson sit for the two veterans. Perhaps this is all part of David Quinn’s master plan, where he plays a noticeably inferior lineup against other teams that can finish ahead of them in the tankings. Then again, Detroit did just call up old friend Dylan McIlrath for this one.
