NY Rangers recall Filip Chytil, Ryan Lindgren

The NY Rangers have recalled forward Filip Chytil and defenseman Ryan Lindgren from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. Chytil’s call up was expected, as the Rangers are without Mika Zibanejad and possibly without Jesper Fast. Lindgren’s call up is a little more surprising since the Blueshirts have enough defensemen. There is something coming on the blue line, even if it’s just a healthy scratch.

Chytil put up 3-6-9 in 9 games with the Pack while playing close to dominating hockey.

Lindgren has a line of 1-1-2 in nine games, and is likely being called up to address the abysmal left side of the defense, likely as a sub in for either Marc Staal or Libor Hajek.
