The Rangers kick off their preseason tonight against the Devils, and Kaapo Kakko will get in the lineup right away. However he will not be going up against the #1 pick this year in Jack Hughes, as Hughes is not in the lineup for the Devils. Guess he’s scared of the better pick.
Both of these teams made major improvements this offseason, but both still likely finish outside of the playoffs. The Devils might be a little better suited for immediate success given they have Taylor Hall and PK Subban, but the Rangers have the much deeper farm system. I am excited for this rivalry again.
