The Hartford Wolf Pack have added three veterans to the AHL mix, inking the trio help round out the youthful depth and create a healthy environment for the plethora of first year pros. Vincent LoVerde, an eight year pro, put up 3-8-11 in 68 games with the Toronto Marlies last year. He also was second in scoring among Marlie defensemen in the playoffs with six assists. He helped the Marlies to a Calder Cup in 2017-2018.
Tom McCollum, a tenth year pro, went 12-10-10 last year with a 2.72 GAA and a .899 SV% with Milwaukee last season. He was a former first round draft pick of Detroit in 2008. Over his career, he’s 147-117-23 with a 2.72 GAA and a .907 SV%. He also won a Calder Cup with the Grand Rapids Griffins in 2012-2013.
Harry Zolnierczyk, a ninth year pro, put up 15-36-61 with Springfield last season, setting career highs in assists and points. That name should sound familiar, as he has played 84 games in the NHL across five teams.
With John Davidson set on rebuilding the Hartford Wolf Pack, it’s safe to say these guys were vetted properly, and will be three key locker room presences for the kids this year.
