Game 77: Fuel the tank

The Rangers are back at it tonight against St. Louis in another game against a playoff opponent. The Blues were awful to start the year, but have righted the ship and been on an absolute tear. They are a virtual lock for the playoffs now after being near the bottom as late as November.

The Rangers are playing some terrible hockey lately, save for Alex Georgiev saving them in Toronto. That’s fine. The more distance between the Rangers and the tank professionals in Buffalo, the better. Buffalo has just three points since the trade deadline. The Rangers have five points. Yet the Rangers are still within striking distance of Detroit and the Devils, who play each other tonight.

I hope that the Devil lose in OT to the Wings!!!!!!!!

As for the Rangers, lets just play hard, but I won’t be disappointed if they lose as well……….

Won’t be disappointed? At this point, it’s mandatory that they lose.

No way! Winning is everything, bro, the attitude is never ever give up – trust me, the draft picks will be there…

Sorry my friend but we came this far, why ruin the chance at some of the best kids in the draft. Look at some of the teams, and cups won by divers, 5 cup by the Pens alone to get the likes of Mario, Jagr, Cindy, and Igor . No I usually hate to see that be the case, but here we are going nowhere and you want to win for what???????

That is so short sighted brother, sorry, the big picture is the team! The culture and the way you finish is superior to tanking and getting a pick or two higher, this is not Fantasy GM hockey, and seriously, for real? You are telling me there is a difference between the 4th and 10th pick? Because there ain’t no difference, bro, and besides, where was Jagr drafted? He was drafted 5th, not first – know who were the superstars drafted in front of him? Nolan, Nedved, Primeau and Ricci. Nuff said, I’m out of this convo!

Good to see Smitty back on the Blueline. He has worked his butt off all season, is a decent defender and gets a very bad rap on this hockey blog.

I was fine with them re-signing, even though it was an overpay, but then he did the wrong thing after that and never recovered.

And it’s not just this blog, lol.

Was that actually a smile on Buch face after scoring the tying goal. Nice to see the young Ruskie gain some confidence.

Didn’t see the game. Checked the score and saw we were losing 2-0 at end of 1. Saw they won 4-2. Looks like Georgi had a helluva great 2nd and 3rd! Probably should let him play out the string. And Vesey with the hat? Be still my heart…

Lol! You might want to call yourself Brodeur1994 and join the Newark team with that attitude because you are basically saying Devs win and Rangers lose. Go NYR!!!

Go where, we have a great record of one cup since 1940, and now have a shot at some quality kids, and you want to win at all costs, wonderful……Everyone on this site wants ELITE players, how the hell are we to get them young if we don’t draft them? Sorry Josh, I’m with my man Tony!!!!!!!!

Just when I didn’t want to watch anymore they pulled me back In. Yesterday I posted that Lias and Filip needed to be more physical and last night I think they raised their game in that aspect. The return of CK made a difference and Buch played a hard 60 min. Maybe watching Lemieux play challenged him. Of course Georgiev saved the day and was the first star. When your 4th line, Vinni and Brett raise their game and our third line raises their game it gives us a chance. Last night we had more drivers than passengers. Fun to watch although I did go surfing after the immediate 2 goals by the Blues. Of course being a gluten for punishment and long time fan I had to take a peak and to my surprise it was 2-2. I’m hooked at that point and it was enjoyable
