The Rangers are in Edmonton in a big tankathon game against the Oilers tonight. Per Colin Stephenson, both Lias Andersson and Tony DeAngelo were bag skating this morning, so they are out of the lineup. This leads me to believe that Staal/Pionk will be reunited tonight and get a bunch of time against McDavid. That bodes well for the Rangers and their draft position.
That said, the Oilers are #bad too. Their lineup would be worse than New Jersey’s AHL lineup if not for McDavid, and the Oilers are actually trying! They were too scared to sell at the deadline because the entire organization is shell-shocked from Peter Chiarelli’s trades. This is just a whole lot of bad, and they are wasting the best player in the league. Sad, really.
