Game 51: Rangers vs. Rangers South

Fresh off a redeeming night against the Devils, the Rangers face off against the cream of the crop tonight. The Lightning are the clear favorites in the East, and they hold a significant points lead on basically everyone. This is a well oiled machine, and with the rest of the league relatively wide open, could be the Cup favorites.

The Rangers as we see them have their days numbered. I expect Mats Zuccarello will be the first one to go, since trading him doesn’t necessarily depend on other factors in Ottawa. Enjoy watching him, especially in this revival, while you can. I know I will.

Deangelo gets Del Zottoed again. Predictable prediction: the Lightning throw the puck into Pionks corner and outmuscle the diminutive dman to win the puck which is passed to the man coming late into the zone. Lundqvist stops the high danger shot but Staal can’t get to the rebound in time and the Bolts player sweeps the puck behind a sprawling Henk. Repeat wash rinse dry..

History in the making Sieveqvist. 2 Rangers going for the big hit but give up a 4 on 2 breakaway to Tampa who capitalized.

And again a healthy scratch. Why? Nonsense. This coach has just rubbed me wrong now. No reason Tony D should be scratched ridiculous.

As well as they played in the 1st is as badly as they played in the 2nd — and the last 3 minutes of the period doesn’t change much. They look as dull as a butter knife …

… but good to see DQ punish DeAngelo some more! Yes, sit the little sh!t for the rest of the season, unless injuries force you to play him. He’ll learn a lot up in the press box!

If McLeod isn’t put on waivers after this game then Gorton should be run out of town.
Zuc with the sneaky hobbit shot puts the Rangers within 2. If the Rangers were a team of Zucs they would be unbeatable.

Come on. McLeod has been on the ice for twice as many Ranger goals this season as opposing goals this game.

And Henrik Lundqvist has more points on the season than McLeod. McLeod sucks and should not be on the N.Y. Rangers.

Well in this rebuild year that’s a fine game. A lousy 2nd but they outplayed the best (albeit very tired) team in the league. I actually thought they were going to pot one at the end but Domingue’s huge save on Kreider quashed that hope. Hank meh in 2nd but big in 3rd. Too little too late for him and the team.

Don’t look now , on a positive note we slipped 2 spots and 4 teams below us gained some ground ?
