Game 38: End the year right in St. Louis

The Rangers are in St. Louis on New Year’s Eve to take on the oddly bad Blues who are a cellar dwelling team. The Rangers should be a cellar dwelling team, but for some reason keep getting loser points. Those 7 loser points put them at 39 points. If they were at 32 points, instead of 39, they’d be last in the NHL. So let’s remember that the Rangers are actually terrible.

The Blues have been marginally better lately, so there’s that. Also the Rangers are getting Kevin Shattenkirk back, so they are fully healthy for the first time in quite some time. A win to close out the year would be nice, but something settled in regulation would be better.

Blues Lines

Alex Steen-Ryan O’Reilly-David Perron

Crazy Prediction: A game that doesn’t go to OT.

Game time is 8pm.

I wish Quinn would abandon the 5 forward PP ideal. They are dreadful together. Pionk and Shat are much better on the point.

Zuc likes the 5 forward pass puck around the perimeter powerplay…it works for him and his sneaky hobbit shot.

Hmmm…38 saves for that Ranger goaltender. How bout that? Another game stolen for the Rangers by their soon-to-be 37-year old alltime great.

To everybody ‘round here except the Hank haters: may your new year be a good one, may your beers be numerous and tasty, and may the Rangers score a top 5 pick in the 2019 draft.

To the Hank haters: the filters won’t permit what I’d truly like to say to you, unfortunately. But I wish that all of your beers are as spoiled as you’ve been by the greatness that has been on display in the Ranger crease these last 14 seasons. May 2019 grant you the perception that you lack.

Yep but if McLeod hadn’t netted the winning goal, Lundqvist performance would of been all for naught.

Great game by Hank. Glad to see Zucc and Boo find the net. Nice to end 2018 on a positive note even though they were roundly outplayed. Wishing all of you a New Year filled with hope, health, and happiness.

Chiarelli wants puck moving defenders. Apparently, “right now, they’re not out there” hmmmm.

The last game of 2018, is as it’s been for 13 years: The Rangers go as Hank goes.

The 2nd and 3rd periods were a magnificent display by the future HOFamer.

Maybe some here would like to acknowledge his greatness, maybe like a New Year’s resolution of some kind? 🙂

Happy New Year everyone, even the Hank Haters, lol.

Like Travis Yost has said for years, the Rangers have wasted this man’s career.

Too bad he’s too thickheaded to want to go somewhere else to try and win one.

I personally love that thick head of his! Glad he’s too loyal (or is that stubborn?) to go elsewhere…

Yes and no. I love him here, of course, but I would also love to see him win a well earned Cup.

Plus, he’s keeping us from a top 3 pick, lol.
