Game 29: Lottery jockeying with Florida

After a week off, the Rangers are in Sunrise tonight to take on the Panthers in a game that may have draft lottery implications. As it stands today, the Rangers are ahead of the Panthers, but only by two points. Florida is a team I have pegged to eventually pass the Rangers in the standings, and a Florida win would do them wonders. Not that anyone is hoping the Rangers lose, but it certainly isn’t the worst thing in the world anymore.

As for our Blueshirts, they’ve been absolutely dreadful lately. They’ve forgotten basic fundamentals and have been borderline lazy. On the bright side, the week off was no picnic. They were worked by David Quinn, and worked hard. We will see if that has any impact on them.

The Rangers up 2 after the opening period. They came out hard against the cats and are skating well. A nice shorty by Name off a sweet feed by Hayes.

A rare off period for Hank. Should have had both but hopefully he can pull it together. Great deflection by Beleskey.

For sure Beleskey filling the scoring void left by McCloud. No chance for Henk on the 3rd Florida marker.

Hate to say it but he’s noticeable on the ice so far

Why do you have to hate to say it Sieve? It is what it is – he had a a good game. That is what he is here to do. Could it be that he knows he is running out of shots at the big time and has figured it out?

Didn’t mean it that way,Wanted more players noticeable on the ice besides him. Zb line looked pretty good. You just see a different game live vs TV ,which I don’t get to see many live Ranger games ?

Well Hank made up for his poor 2nd with an amazing OT performance. I’m surprised Florida doesn’t have a better record. They are tough offensively, but I guess their defense/goaltending hold them back. Nice to see Hayes with a terrific performance and I was glad he came out for the shootout instead of Vesey. Claesson and Beleskey with excellent games too.

Hank’s first win with an under .900 save % in eons.

About time! Gotta win some when your goalie is a mere mortal. But this road issue of not being able to win in regulation is really concerning.

Be prepare for Brooks to write about Hayes so scouts can pick up on his success 🙂

His he can’t play wing narrative has been played out since his NCAA days.

Beleskey and Foges played great along with Hank.

    Skjei is still poop 🙁

And you’re still a semiliterate idiot, so it’s pretty much status quo at this point.

Oh Brooks did point Hayes again. Brooks must have signed up to be a shill for Ranger management. It’s embarrassing.

Also hate when teams play for a tie! Lots of rules changed over the years, that should be another. Points need to change , 3 for a win in Reg , 2 for OT , 1 for the skills competition and 0 for the loss.

Rangers blew THREE leads last night, they were not playing for a tie, lol. Though you probably were not talking about the Rangers.
