The Rangers are in Brooklyn tonight to take on the Islanders in a game that, no matter where you stand on the rebuild, you want to win. It’s the Islanders. The Isles rode hot goaltending and scoring to early success, but their underlying numbers weren’t good. Those underlyings are rounding into form, which will take the sting off the luck regression.
I’m expecting this to be an ugly game from a defensive standpoint. It might be fun to watch though, and might actually be a track meet. I’d prefer a track meet over a sluggish game in the trenches, that’s for sure. Expect a few fights, it’s Rangers/Isles.
