Game 4: Lineup shakeup in attempt to tame Sharks

The Rangers are welcoming Erik Karlsson and the San Jose Sharks to town tonight with new lines and a hope that the shakeup leads to some wins. San Jose got off to a slow start, but their 8-2 drubbing of Philly was a reminder of what this team is expected to do. They can score seemingly at will.

Neal Pionk and Kevin Shattenkirk will be scratched tonight. We will see the Rangers debut of Frederik Claesson. Tony DeAngelo is paired with Marc Staal, good luck kid. For some ready Skjei/McQuaid seems to be working, so let that run I guess? No matter what, those defense pairings against the potent Sharks have me worried.

Rangers lineup:

San Jose lineup:

Crazy Prediction: Karlsson doesn’t record a point.

Game time is 7pm.

Is there an easy way I can go back and look at last October’s posts so I can read all the comments about how everyone was losing their minds the moment AV would tinker with the lineup after losing multiple games?

You have a fair point….But AV hated kids and didnt give them the time of day

Did he not like kids? Or did he not like the kids you liked? Skjei seemed to get plenty of opportunities as a youngster.

          Chytil, ADA, JT Miller…..

          • Oct 11, 2018 at 7:22 pm

If you think Chytil or ADA played well enough last year to warrant significant NHL playing time then I’m done debating with you!

I’ll be honest. Based on your logical additions to the conversation around here I was expecting you to bring up Mcilrath as an example ov AVs deficiencies but I stand corrected!

            • Oct 11, 2018 at 7:56 pm

Mclrath was a failure the moment they called his name….also how many playoff games was Staal and Holden out there in the last minute and we got burned?

              • Oct 11, 2018 at 8:07 pm

Are we still talking abut your blanket statement that AV hated kids or have we conveniently deflected to another complaint?

You can’t say a coach hates kids when it’s an fact that several excelled under him.

Being selective doesn’t make your argument hold water.

              • Oct 11, 2018 at 8:14 pm

                You brought up Mclrath….

              • Oct 11, 2018 at 8:32 pm

It was a thinly veiled insult. Don’t worry about it!

    • Oct 11, 2018 at 7:04 pm

Never mind, found a good one. My how much has changed in a year!

  • Oct 11, 2018 at 5:55 pm

I really don’t like the comic relief of the line up?
    Straight up 5th grade nonsense.

Agreed, that stuff is just awful and completely unfunny. Sports hipsterism is never a good thing.

        Never ever

He certainly has earned his current role! Hope the kid keeps it up!

    • Oct 11, 2018 at 7:58 pm

      I love Howden

  • Oct 11, 2018 at 8:20 pm

Poor play be ADA. Totally uncalled for by him being caught in the O zone, for an odd man rush against us. Get your head out of your ass Tony!!!

  • Oct 11, 2018 at 9:39 pm

You have to love the never give up by the team the last few minutes to tie the game…….

      • Oct 12, 2018 at 7:28 am

It’s a given, and I try to ignore the fools…………

  • Oct 11, 2018 at 9:52 pm

That was a great win. Hank kept them in it through the first 2 periods and they put together a great 3rd. Howden is a revelation. Chytil looks like he could use some time in a Hartford. Happy for a lot of folks, including Smith, Skjei and the Coach!

  • Oct 11, 2018 at 9:55 pm

Great effort , Hank played a great game , Skjei redeems himself after his pants got pulled off on the first goal
